there is something quite striking about this photo. hard to place my finger on it but the crisscrossing straps, the look on your face and the color on your lips all seem to be a part of it...but maybe that's the obvious thing to point out.

Penumbra is similar to the french word " pénombre"...you already give us the definition, but in french, "la pénombre" (the penumbra) and the evening is the same thing...
